Telehealth Trial using the NBN

I was pleased to hear at this week’s ‘The eHealth Conference – Revolutionising Australia’s Health Care’, Minister Stephen Conroy announced that NSW Health is to receive $4 million in federal funding to trial the delivery of telehealth services into the homes of people aged over 65.

The telehealth trial will take place in the NBN first release sites of Armidale and Kiama Downs. Access to telehealth facilities will be provided via the National Broadband Network (NBN).

This is a great example of where IT can make a real difference to people’s lives.
